DESCRIPTION:Etegami literally means “Picture Letters”.  Etegami are 4” x 6”\, with simple images that you paint\, along with some heart-felt words that echo the image and reflect your feelings\, and completed with a personalized Hanko stamp. Often\, Etegami are mailed in the form of a card to a friend or loved one\, but can stand alone as a beautiful piece.\nNo drawing or painting experience necessary! \nAll materials provided\, which includes ink\, rice paper\, watercolor paper\, watercolors\, brushes\, subjects to work from\, and materials needed to make personal signature stamp (or hanko). DESCRIPTION:Join our Woods and Water team for an educational talk and snorkel program to learn about freshwater ecology and the importance of a vibrant and healthy freshwater ecosystem. We will teach participants how to identify aquatic invasive species that are harmful to native species within these freshwater ecosystems and learn proper removal techniques. \nA life vest\, a snorkel with mask and fins will be provided\, and you will learn basic techniques of snorkeling from our Woods and Water team. Children 12 and up are welcome to attend. Canoes will be provided to paddle to nearshore snorkel areas on Plum Lake. An email will be sent to registered participants with directions to the launch site and items to bring prior to the trip.  This is a free program\, however\, space is limited and registration is required by 7/24/24

SUMMARY:Underwater Exploration: Statehouse Lake Snorkel
DESCRIPTION:Join our Woods and Water team and Wisconsin Master Naturalist Volunteer Marty\, a certified diver\, for an educational talk and snorkel program to learn about freshwater ecology and the importance of a vibrant and healthy freshwater ecosystem. We will teach participants how to identify aquatic invasive species that are harmful to native species within these freshwater ecosystems and learn proper removal techniques. Participants will be provided with a life vest\, a snorkel with mask and fins\, and learn basic techniques of snorkeling from our Woods and Water team. Our goal is that this program will engage and inspire participants to join our efforts in becoming environmental stewards. Children 12 and up are welcome to attend. Canoes will be provided\, and we will explore Statehouse Lake at the Discovery Center.  This is a free program\, however\, space is limited and registration is required by 7/18/24.
